Darkly beautiful.

Lately I've been mostly drawn to light bright images, probably as a winter coping mechanism. However, once again, the ladies at Desire to Inspire have provided me with an image that makes me crave the total opposite. I think it's because this pic reminds me of the light in coastal BC. It also doesn't hurt that it features a Smeg.

An elegant argument in support of wallpaper.

I'm a bit behind on the old blogging thing due to my pesky new job which actually requires me to do something all day but I wanted to take a sec to put up some pics from the Apartment Therapy tour of Christiana Coop's apartment. I can't stop looking at this place. And for all you hold-out wallpaper haters, just try to tell me this doesn't look fantastic.

A crisis of colours.

This beautiful kitchen of Swedish blogger An Angel at My Table has got me seriously regretting painting any of my walls.

I suspect though that this would only work in a large well-lit home, rather than my tiny abode, but it certainly is a stunning example of how beautiful monochromatic decor can be when done properly.

Vintage black and white tile inspiration.

This post is a bit of a mishmash but I've been collecting pictures of vintage black-and-white tile combinations for bathroom inspiration. Right now the bathtub surround is the only tiled area in the bathroom but I'm getting ambitious and thinking the floor and the lower 1/3 of the walls could use some tiling too.

Of course, having never tiled anything ever in my life, this might just be my right brain shooting its DYI mouth off and leaving my left brain holding the bag.

I cannot overstate how much I love this picture. The arrangement, the background paint colour, the mix of brown paper bag, black and white. I definitely need to do something like this somewhere in my house.

Rethinking yellow.

I've never been a fan but this picture is making me question my hate. And that, my friends, is something we should all do more often.

Well, with the single striking exception of those people with massive strollers. They do not deserve your kindness.
